Join us in a 35-five minute class that will bring the joy of music and movement to you and your young child, aged 16 months to 3-1/2 years! Learn to play together musically through singing, dancing, focused listening, and exploring and playing instruments. This class environment promotes the development of each child's music aptitude and skills, as well as attention, impulse control and language skills. Through simple echo games, little children begin to hear and perform a vocabulary of rhythm and melody patterns, the building blocks of music! Parents are encouraged to repeat music activities at home, to continue the fun and learning throughout the week!
$100 total includes all classes for child and caregiver, plus Twist and Turn recording and family music book.

Have fun together while developing your child’s musical potential. Sing, listen, play instruments, and move to music together with family and friends! Musikgarten classes set a foundation for well-rounded music skills, such as intonation, rhythmic development, listening skills, and coordination in a joyful, hands-on environment. Through simple echo games, little children begin to hear and perform a vocabulary of rhythm and melody patterns, the building blocks of music. Parents are encouraged to repeat music activities, to continue the fun and learning throughout the week! The summer session features a weekly 35-minute class meeting on Tuesdays evening, with no class on July 2. See also Wednesday morning Family Music for Toddler classes.

Cycle of Seasons: Sounds of Summer, 6 classes over 7 weeks, June 12-July 24 (no class on July 3)
This forty-five minute class connects the child's world with the natural world, while nurturing the emerging independence of three- to 5 year-olds. Activities include singing, stories and rhymes, listening games, playing instruments, patterns to echo, and movement games, all of which promote musical development while satisfying the child's need to learn in a creative, holistic environment! In this class, children progress to new levels where they are able to play rhythm and melody patterns on instruments, sing entire songs, create their own movement and instrument ideas, as well as verbalize and describe their ideas, promoting language learning.
Parents participate in the class, although some of the activities are designed to encourage the children to participate independently of their parents. The home materials packet allows the learning and fun to continue at home!
Class times: Wednesday 11:00-11:45 a.m.
Materials: Summer Cycle of Seasons recording, a parent music book, and 8 listening cards

Music Explorers! (4-6 year-olds)
6 week session, meeting Tuesdays 5-5:50 p.m. from June 11-July 23, with no class July 2)
This 50 minute Music Makers class immerses the 4-6 year-old child in an engaging and motivating musical environment! Children will build music skills through singing and playing instruments in ensembles, connecting aural rhythm/tonal patterns to written notes, and moving and dancing to music. All the activities are a fun and hands-on way to set a foundation for learning to play piano or another instrument, or to sing in a choir! Musikgarten curricula follow a pathway to developing music literacy, coordination, and listening skills required for comprehensive musicianship.
After 40 minutes, caregivers or family members are invited to join us for the last 10 minutes of class!

4 weeks, Wednesdays 5-6 p.m., July 24-August 14
This engaging introduction to piano study immerses the child in foundational activities: playing beginning piano songs, chording, singing melodies, drumming rhythm, and playing notation-reading games. Movement is interspersed among the activities, giving each child a variety of ways to experience music concepts. Our FUN summer group class gives each child a head start on fall piano study. Adults return the last 15 minutes of class. Join us for a great start in learning to play the piano!
