Musikgarten Adults: Enjoying the Piano Together

Whether you are an adult beginner who has always wanted to play the piano, or someone who studied a little a long time ago, this is the class for you! Join the Recreational Music-Making movement, learning to play the piano in a supportive group setting. Our thorough preparation of concepts nurtures each individual's abilities, so that producing music on the piano or keyboard is an enjoyable and successful experience. The sequential curriculum leads to a strong foundation in both hearing and reading music. Nine classes per session develop threads in the following areas:
Technique
Playing by Ear
Reading Music at the piano
Ensemble Playing
Music Appreciation of form, classical repertoire and history
ALL new material is reviewed and developed for several weeks.

Class times: 8 weeks, beginning January 22/24, 2019 
Level 1Tuesday 1:15-2:00 p.m. 
Level 2: Thursday 1:15-2:00 p.m. Level 3: Tuesday 6:00-6:45 p.m.

Materials:

Student Book--songs, theory, music appreciation, reading pieces
CD--songs, exercises for rhythm work, and listening, and
exercises for ear training and progressive music reading.
Notation games--sequential work with rhythm and melody patterns, continuing through scales and chords, and active work with music theory
