Karen's team of teachers:
Daria earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Music Performance from Montana State University-Billings in 2007. The birth of her first child prompted Daria to explore early childhood music education opportunities, which led her to the Musikgarten Family Music for Babies class. The positive experiences that Daria and her daughter shared in that class prompted Daria to study, attend workshops, and become a certified Musikgarten instructor. The fall of 2009, Daria began teaching Family Music for Toddlers, Cycle of Seasons, and All Together Now for Karen Haughey Music Studio. Daria thoroughly enjoys watching her students and their parents grow closer together through music!

She also worked with children at her church, directing the Joyful Singers Choir (grades 1-3, then 4-6) for 29 years. Cheryle has sung in college and church choirs, as well as the Billings Symphony Chorale. Her love for children and music led her to become a certified Musikgarten teacher. She is inspired by the experience of teaching children music through a joyful, discovery process.
Jenny Toews (pronounced Taves), who has lived in Billings all her life, considers herself a life-long student of music. After high school, Jenny traveled the world as a soloist in 'Up With People' and 'The Continental Singers'. Extensive participation in choirs, vocal competitions and musical theater shaped her into an excellent and engaging role model for students. She has studied piano and voice, leading to study in college as a vocal major. Jenny believes every child is precious, with so much to offer the world, and as such she enjoys sharing her gifts and love of music with all her students and their families. She is committed to nourishing each one's musical abilities while enriching his/her life through Musikgarten.
Katie moved to Billings when she was nine-years-old. She attended college in Missoula and Billings, graduating with a History Education degree with a Political Science minor and a Broadfield Social Studies Endorsement in Sociology. Katie's hobbies are history, music, reading/writing, and travel: so far, she’s been to 10 countries and stood on four continents… and hopes to see that number rise! Katie loved teaching High School History for five years, but chose to resign from classroom teaching to have more time for her daughter (whom she and her husband adopted in 2018). Katie has participated in audition choirs, community concerts, musicals, and has sung at her church for 18 years. Her training and experience as an educator as well as her passion for music and kids, led her to Musikgarten. She believes every child possesses the ability to learn and grow and loves to be a part of that journey in her students’ lives.
